At the AkashVaani Foundation, our mission is to help underprivileged students by providing better sanitation and healthcare education in existing schools. We believe that schools are the perfect platforms to improve health awareness, starting from the very root of learning.

WHO WE ARE
AkashVaani Foundation’s name combines my brother's name, Akash, meaning “sky”, and my name, Vaani, meaning “inspirational wisdom”. When combined, it stands for the endless possibility to use our wisdom to help others. We, as a sister-brother team have set out to do so through the betterment of other students' healthcare and education.
HEALTH CLINIC
Reinforcing our Commitment
This health clinic, hosted at a girls' school in the village of Ballabhgarh, Rajasthan, kick-started our initiative of improving health awareness and healthy living. For this project, we have tested over 150 people's blood pressure and blood sugar through annual visits, referring villagers to seek medical attention as per an internist's medical opinion. During this time, we were able to provide sanitation and hygiene education to the school's girls and the people of Ballabhgarh. In our most recent visit, we also provided free dental checkups and toothpaste for all the school's girls. We hope to empower these hardworking girls and villagers by supporting them with improved health equity.
SANITATION IMPROVEMENT
School Bathroom Renovations
We noticed that the boys and girls of a rural school in Rajasthan were lacking access to clean, comfortable restrooms. The nonexistent roof failed to offer a safe environment for the students, especially the girls who were disfavored the most because of this. Without the covering, the desert region’s harsh climate had deteriorated the facility’s conditions, with sand-blasted walls and moldy corners. The resulting open defecation also posed the risk of harboring disease and infection. In response, we funded and oversaw the construction of a roof for these students’ bathroom with the help of local support.
